A major benefit of being a Dii member is having the access to colleagues around the world with similar imaging interests and and the ability to turn to them for help. With membership, you can belong to as many Groups as you like or start one of your own. It's having other members available for help, advice and ideas.
During the registration process, you will be given the opportunity to join one "Dii" Group. The following list defines the Groups we have established along with the respective moderators for each group. Please note that once you are registered as a member, you can join as many Groups as you desire. And remember, since this organization is here to serve your needs, please suggest ideas for other Groups you would like to see us start.

Dii: This group, moderated by Dii Founder, Mark Maio, will be a forum for news about the organization, in addition to providing an opportunity for members to ask questions, comment on what else Dii might provide, and make suggestion on how to better serve their needs. |

Adobe Lightroom: Moderated by Dii Director of Education and Photoshop guru, Jimmy DiVitale, this group is dedicated to users or anyone interested in Adobe's popular image work-flow program. |

Adobe Photoshop: Moderated again by Jimmy DiVitale, you can ask questions and get expert advice on how to solve your Photoshop problems, answered by an expert who teaches for Adobe in workshops around the world. |

Color Management: One of the most basic problems we have in digital imaging is reproducing the color of our subject correctly on our monitors or prints. Join color management expert Eddie Tapp in this group as he addresses your concerns from image capture to final output. |

Communication Lab: You have done your research and collected your data. Now what? Beth Beighlie from Harvard University leads this group in answering your questions on preparing information for publication. |

Dental Imaging: Cosmetic Dentist Stephen Snow will use this group to discuss the problems the dentistry profession faces in using digital imaging to educate and treat patients.

Digital InSight: Digital InSight magazine Managing Editor John Michael Coppinger will be available via this group to answer your questions, address your concerns and implement your suggestions to keep our magazine on the cutting edge of imaging in science, medicine and research. And, if you have an idea for an article, or if you would like to write one, this group will help you make it happen.

Forensic Imaging: George Reis leads this group of professionals who use computer-based scientific disciplines to help police and other law enforcement officials solve crimes. Attorneys, scientists and government officials, who also have a need for the extraction of objective information from imagery, will find involvement in this group beneficial.

Imaging and Analysis: This group, moderated by Jerry Sedgewick, will be a forum devoted to post processing digital images and measurement of image features in the areas of science, medicine and engineering. It is primarily focused on the use of Photoshop, but other imaging and quantitation programs may also be discussed.

Ophthalmic Imaging: Dii Founder Mark Maio has spent over 35 years specializing in ophthalmic imaging. He will lead this group on issues ranging from diagnostic imaging and clinical trials, to commercial imaging device development and manufacture to professional advancement.

Service and Outreach: As part of its mission, Dii wants to help share knowledge and provide service to those who would otherwise be unable to afford it. Through this group, John Michael Coppinger will assist with creating a professional skill training/sharing network, a mentoring program and a support mechanism for raising awareness and publicity for non-profit organizations of interest to our members. The first step is to create a forum where our members can offer assistance and connect with each other. If you are currently volunteering in any service organizations, we would like to hear about it and ask that you share your work and photography.
